Anna Mae Gum, 85, of Danville passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Thursday, May 12, 2022, at Vintage Knolls. She was born April 19, 1937 in Fishing Creek Twp, Columbia County, a daughter of the late William and Ada Williams. Anna Mae was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, Stanley, parents William and Ada Williams, brothers Maynard Williams, Jack Williams, and granddaughter Melissa Joyce. She is survived by her son, Jeffrey Gum and his partner, Schelly, of Danville; a daughter, Vicki and late husband Stephen Bennick, of Danville; a son, Joel Gum and wife Kristine of Danville; a grandson, Matthew Gum and wife Tiffany of Danville. Anna Mae and Stanley originally resided in Millville, then built their first home in Danville in 1959. They built their second home in 1966, where they proudly resided until the passing of Stanley in early 2021. She graduated from Millville High School and afterwards worked part time for Servomation at Merck and local LCB stores over the holidays. Later, she worked part time in the fabric department at Beiter’s Department Store for several years.
Anna Mae enjoyed being outside to either weed whack the yard, take care of her garden, or water her flowers. Inside you would always find her in the kitchen baking and cooking for her family or sewing a variety of fabrics. She had a strong love for animals, especially her most recent cat, Miss Kitty, or as Stanley would call him… Dummy! You would also find her every evening at 7pm watching Wheel of Fortune. She was an avid bingo player at various establishments around town and did the occasional casino trip which Stanley turned a blind eye to! She will be greatly missed by her boys who always visited with her throughout the day.
