Arlene Y. Bardo, 89, of Bloomsburg passed away Thursday February 24, 2022 at Bloomsburg Care and Rehabilitation Center. She was born September 16, 1932 in Dushore, PA, a daughter of the late Cliffton and Jennie (Snyder) Young.
She graduated from Benton High School and worked at the U. S. Radium Plant and later at Bloomsburg School District as a cook. Arlene enjoyed crocheting, doing jig-saw puzzles, cross-word puzzles, doing cross stitches, growing flowers, watching Pro Golf, and was an avid reader. She was a member of Eyersgrove United Methodist Church.
Arlene is survived by two sons; Mark Bardo wife Shari and Rodney Bardo wife Melody, both of Bloomsburg, two grandchildren; Amanda Ruth Bardo (Anson Spisak), Bryce Raymond Bardo (Arianna), and two sisters Jean Marie Hess and Norma Jane Sweeney husband Scott, both of Benton.
Arlene was preceded in death by her husband Cecil R. Bardo who passed away April 10, 2020, and siblings; Ethel Hess, Calvin Young, Gladys “Tot” Hallabuck, Max Young, Alonzo "Dade" Young, Helen Young, Edith Hess, Louise Hartman, Myron Young, Caroline Fulmer, and Philip “Sonny” Young, who died at infancy.
Services will be Friday March 4, 2022 at 11:00 am at Bunnell Funeral Home Inc., 179 E. Main St., Millville with her pastor, Pastor Martin Parr officiating. Burial will follow at Elan Memorial Park. Family will receive friends from 10:00 am until time of service at the funeral home.
