Betty M. (Coursen) Reese

Betty M. Reese, 88, of Millville passed away on Tuesday June 10, 2025 at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville. She was born March 11, 1937 in Wilkes-Barre, PA, a daughter of the late Ralph and Agnes (Phillips) Coursen.

She graduated from Meyers High School in Wilkes-Barre class of 1955 where she was on the synchronized swim team and from Wilkes-Barre General School of Nursing. Betty worked and retired from the Gardens of Millville where she was the Director of Nursing. She was a member of Millville Christian Church Disciples of Christ where she played the piano, the Eastern Star Lodge #279 of Bloomsburg, and Sorority of Good Intent.

Betty enjoyed reading, doing word searches, and watching Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy. In her younger years she loved going to Ocean City, Maryland, St. Augustine, Fl., boating on the river, and camping.

Betty loved cheering and supporting her family in everything they did. She had an infectious laugh that will be missed dearly.

Betty is survived by three sons: Jeffrey R. Reese wife Debbie of Millville, Craig D. Reese wife Melanie of Presque Isle, Maine, Carl R. Reese wife Vivian of Horsham, PA, five grandchildren: Jeremy Reese, Brigham Reese, Benjamin Reese, Noah Reese, Gretchen Reese, and three great-grandchildren: Michael Reese, Mila Reese, Hudson Reese.

Betty was preceded in death by her husband Daniel R. Reese, who passed away on March 3, 1995, grandson Isaac T. Reese, sister Mary Constein, and sister-in-law Hannah Wood.

Services will be Tuesday June 17, 2025 at 11:00 am at the Millville Christian Church Disciples of Christ, 230 E. Main St., Millville with her pastor, Pastor Mark Messner officiating. Burial will follow at Millville Cemetery. Family will receive friends from 10:00 am until time of service at the church.
