Bruce E. Kindt Jr., 93, of Bloomsburg, passed away Tuesday, March 12, 2013 at Geisinger Medical Center in Danville. He was born October 30, 1919 in Mt. Pleasant Township a son of the late Bruce E. and Grace Ruckle Kindt Sr. Bruce graduated from Millville High School in 1937. Then he served in the United States Army during WWII where he was a medic. He worked at Magee Carpet Company for over twenty years and at ILC Products in Millville and Girton Manufacturing. He enjoyed splitting wood and lumbering with Edwin Johnson. He was an avid hunter and enjoyed raising beagles. He enjoyed telling stories and was quite the jokester. He is a member of the Bloomsburg V.F.W. Post 804 and the Millville American Legion Arthur Bardo Post 564. He was preceded in death by his first wife Thelma Ande Kindt who passed away in 1972 and four brothers Claude, Kenneth, Woodrow and Paul and a sister Charlotte. He is survived by his wife the former Maureen Carey Brobst with whom he married June 17, 1988 and two sons Nicholas Kindt and his wife Susan of Bloomsburg and Bruce E. Kindt III of Edinboro, Pa and five grandchildren Jessica and her husband Michael McDermott, Sadie Grace Kindt and Joseph, Benjamin and Samuel Kindt and a great grandson Colin Thomas McDermott and two sisters Darl Johnson and Shirley Lawton and a brother Blaine Kindt all of Millville. Services will be Saturday at 11:00 am at Bunnell Funeral Home, Inc. 179 E. Main St. Millville, Pa 17846 with Rev. Robert Strozyk officiating. Burial will be at Millville Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday from 10:00 am until the time of service. Friends unable to attend may send condolences at bunnellfuneralhome.com.
