Carl Crossley Obituary

Carl E. Crossley, 86, of Bloomsburg, passed away Wednesday, October 19, 2011 at his home. He was born August 22, 1925 in West Hemlock Twp., a son of the late Clyde Wellington and Ruth Sterling Moore Crossley. Carl graduated from Danville High School in 1943. After graduation he enlisted in the United States Navy in 1943, serving during WWII, ending his time of service in 1946. He is a member of the Washington Masonic Lodge. He enjoyed hunting and traveling. He has been a self-employed farmer at his present address for the past fifty two years. He was preceded in death by a sister Elizabeth Crossley. He is survived by his wife the former Shirley E. Schreffler with whom he married June 15, 1957, and two sons Elwood Crossley and his wife Lori of Grand Junction, Colorado, Eugene Crossley of Bloomsburg, and a daughter Elaine and her husband Merrill Dickinson of Albany, Georgia, four grandchildren Brock and Jill Crossley, Lindsey and Matthew Dickinson, three step-grandchildren Kassie and Melissa Smith and Danny Walsh and one great grandson Calyn Crossley. Services will be Monday at 11:00 am at Bunnell Funeral Home, Inc. 179 E. Main St. Millville with Pastor Ken Force officiating. Burial will be at Columbia Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday from 10:00 am until the time of service. In lieu of flowers contributions can be made in his memory to the American Cancer Society 1948 East 3rd St. Ste F, Williamsport, Pa 17701.
