Carol V. Shuman, 88, of Stillwater and formerly of Mainville passed away Tuesday May 25, 2021 at Bonham Nursing Center. She was born November 20, 1932 in Main Township, a daughter of the late John and Mildred (Girton) Vought Sr.
She graduated from Bloomsburg High School class of 1950 and from Bloomsburg State Teacher College class of 1954. Carol worked for Danville School District for 32 years before retiring. She was a member of Bloomsburg Hospital Auxiliary with the gift shop and the front desk, and a former member of Catawissa Eastern Star 265. She lived her entire life in Main Township except for the last three years.
Carol is survived by three children: Candy Steiner husband Dennis of Lancaster, Jeffrey D. Shuman wife Rose of Mechanicsburg, Jill Bankes husband Jeffrey of Mainville, six grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren.
Carol was preceded in death by her parents as well as her husband Franklin Shuman who passed away on April 27, 1994, and brother John R. Vought Jr.
Services will be Friday May 28, 2021 at 11:00 am at the Rodger T. Bunnell Funeral Home, 435 Market St., Bloomsburg with Pastor Christine Kirchner officiating. Burial will follow at Elan Memorial Park. Family will receive friends at the funeral home from 10:00 am until time of service.
