Charles O. Broyles, 93, of Millville, passed away December 6, 2010 at the Orangeville Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. He was born November 6, 1917 in Baxter, Tennessee, a son of the late Patton R. and Harriett Nitzchke Broyles. Charles served during WWII. He was a principle of Burrville Elementary School in Burrville, Tenn. and after moving to the area he was the head teacher at the Greenwood Elementary School and retired from the Millville School District. He has been a member of Millville American Legion Arthur Bardo Post 564 for sixty five years. He was a member of the Pine Summitt United Methodist Church. He was preceded in death by four siblings. He is survived by his wife the former Blanche N. Beitz with whom he has been married 58 years, a daughter Susan and her husband Robert Pensyl of Lightstreet, two sons Leland James Hidlay and his wife Ella-Mae of Church Hill, Tenn., and Charles O. Broyles and his wife Bobbi Jo of Orangeville and seven grandchildren and seven great grandchildren and a sister Nellie Ownbey of Clearwater, Fl. Services will be Wednesday at 2:00 pm at Bunnell Funeral Home, Inc. 179 E. Main St. Millville with Rev. Jennifer Parks-Snyder of the Lightstreet United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be at Pine Summitt Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 1:00 pm until the time of service.
