Christian Wolff Jr. Obituary

Christian F. Wolff Jr. 85, of Millville, passed away peacefully at his home on Wednesday, December 15, 2010. Chris was born December 31, 1924 in Quarryville, Pa; he was a son of the late Christian S. Wolff and Emma Trout Wolff. He graduated from Quarryville High School in 1942. Because of his love for the mountains of Northern Pa and deer hunting, he moved to Millville from Lancaster County in March of 1951 and purchased a dairy farm he named Pen-Col Farms. Pen-Col Farms became known internationally for Registered Holstein cattle. In 1964, he started Pen-Col Dairy and supplied fresh milk to many stores in the area and later started Wolff Market on Rt 11 in Bloomsburg. He was a leader in many agriculture organizations including being a director of PA Farm Bureau, Agway Corporate Board, Curtis Burns Foods, Inc., and the Pa Dairy Promotion Board. He also served on the Governor Casey's Solid Waste Advisory Board, Pa Milk Juggers Association, Columbia County FmHA Committee, Keystone Milk Marketing Council and the Millville School Board. In 1960 he was recognized as an Outstanding Young Farmer and in 1978 he was recognized as a Master Farmer. He was an active member of the First English Baptist Church of Bloomsburg where he served as a Deacon. He was preceded in death by a daughter Sandra Wolff Duffy Cann and two brothers J. Shepard Wolff and Eugene T. Wolff. He is survived by his wife Anna Viola Ridall Wolff, her daughter Nancy and her husband Albert Gordner of Millville, her son Larry Ridall and his wife Judy of Omaha, Neb., a son Dennis C. Wolff and his wife Josey of Millville, six grandchildren, Elizabeth Wolff and her husband Luis Afonso of Brooklyn, NY, Corey Wolff and his wife Brynn of Hershey, Pa, Benjamin Wolff of Millville, Timothy Wolff of Hershey, Nicholas Wolff of Millville, and Christian Duffy of Millville and five step-grandchildren Tim, Bobby Jo, and Nick Mordan all of Millville, and Doug Ridall of Valdosta, GA and Terry Ridall of Omaha, Neb and six great-grandchildren and four step-great grandchildren, and a brother Robert T. Wolff and his wife Faye of Millville and a sister Marath Boose of Quarryville, Pa and a son-in-law Braxton Cann of Big Stone Gap, VA, and a sister-in-law Jean Brown Wolff of Syracuse, NY. Memorial service will be Sunday at 4:30 pm at First English Baptist Church 700 Millville Rd. Bloomsburg, Pa 17815, with his Pastor Dr. Lee Barnhardt officiating. Burial will be at the convience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be sent in his memory to Camp Victory, PO Box 810, Millville, Pa 17846.
