Donald G. Klinger, 81, of Bloomsburg, passed away September 11, 2011 at Geisinger Medical Center. He was born May 14, 1930 in Hemlock Township, a son of the late George and Marie Robbins Klinger. Don graduated from Bloomsburg High School in 1949. He worked for H.B. Low several years until serving three years in the United States Coast Guard during the Korean Conflict from 1950 until 1953. He then worked for Carl Horn Contractor and Danville Lumber Company. He worked several years at TRW before going into business for himself as a carpenter. He then worked as a Carpenter at Bloomsburg University from 1975 until he retired in 1991. Don is a member of the Trinity United Church of Christ in Bloomsburg, Pa, Bloomsburg Fireman's Relief and the Bloomsburg Legion where he was a Legionnaire. He was preceded in death by a sister Elizabeth "Betty" Brouse who passed away August 26, 2011. Don is survived by his wife the former Betty Hawk whom he married September 10, 1955, a son Thomas Klinger and his companion Lois Williams both of Bloomsburg, two daughters Sherri F. and her husband Brian Valencik of Millville and Tina Mary and her husband Tom Levan of Stewartstown, Pa, seven grandchildren and one great granddaughter. Graveside services will be Wednesday at 11:00 am at Elan Memorial Park with his Pastor Stephen Engelhardt officiating.
