Dorothy "Peggy" Bieber Obituary

Dorothy Grace Bieber, affectionately known as Peggy, passed away on May 20, 2024. She was born on February 1, 1936, in Sudbury, Suffolk, England, to the late Roland and Minnie Sargeant. Dorothy was preceded in death by her twin brother, George, and is survived by her younger sister, Josephine White, residing in England.

At the age of 19, Dorothy ventured to America to marry her beloved husband of 68 years, Howard L. Bieber. Together, they built a life in Greenwood Valley, PA, where her love for walking her dogs among the hillsides of Greenwood Valley flourished.

Aside from her canine companions, Peggy had a variety of hobbies she once enjoyed. She delighted in cooking and baking, sewing, as well as expressing her artistic talents through drawing and painting. She also enjoyed fishing and hunting.

Peggy enjoyed her music and always sang along to a wide variety from Frankie Lane classics to the opera of Mario Lanza and Sarah Brightman to rock n roll hits of Rod Stewart, The Bee Gees and the Beetles.

Peggy had a great longing for travel and adventure (including cave exploration and hiking northeastern Pennsylvania) while exploring the beauty of various places around the world. From the four corners of the Lower 48 to Alaska, Hawaii , Bermuda, the Caribbean, Italy, France, Ireland, Scotland, Wales and, of course, England, she embraced the wonders of all different landscapes. However, her heart was particularly captivated by her home near Brundon Woods in Suffolk County, England and the scenic hillsides of Greenwood Valley, PA where her ashes will be spread respectively.

Professionally, Peggy dedicated her working years to Bon Ton and JC Penney, where she made lasting connections and retired with pride. She was once an active member of the Camp Victory community as a "Pie Lady.” At one time she also enjoyed English country line dancing and meeting up with other English ladies from the surrounding area.

Although Peggy attended Mill-Green Methodist church, she always held steadfast to her Church of England faith. She leaves behind a legacy of laughs and stories that will be cherished by her children; Danny, Glenn, Heidi and Heather Bieber. Her grandchildren, Caleb Bieber and Caitlin Karl, as well as her great-grandchildren, Mason and Lauren Karl, will forever remember her vibrant spirit.

Peggy was a remarkable woman who left a mark on the lives of all who knew her. She will be deeply missed but forever remembered through her family, her zest for life, and her dedication to her passions.
