Edward Folk, 96, of Bloomsburg passed away on Saturday Morning March 15, 2025. He was born June 12, 1928 in Berwick, the son of the late Roy and Josephine (Horrax) Folk.
Ed graduated from Berwick Schools and was a U.S. Marine veteran. While in school he worked at the AC&F supplying blockage for bulldozers. After that he served honorably in the Marine Corp. After the Marines he worked at Magee Carpet Company until he started his own flower farms. In his off time (winter months) he attended short courses at Ohio State University attending seminars on the flower business. He was a self-taught flower growing. He and his wife, Peggy, owners of Folk Florist Inc., were one of the largest cut flower growers in the East, shipping flowers from Washington to Boston.
Ed, Peggy, and partners Cleve and Rose Hummel owned two mobile home parks, Brookside Village and Pleasant View Estates. They also sold mobile homes, had a grocery store and apartments.
Ed and Peggy loved to travel. They traveled to many countries as well as a large part of the United States.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife Peggy, brothers: Sam, Gene, Dick, Bob, Donny, and sisters: Evelyn and Helen.
Ed is survived by his three children: Ed Folk wife Jolene of Bloomsburg, Linda Cain husband Randy of Benton, Jeannie Lapinski husband Tom of Bloomsburg, two grandchildren: Aaron Lapinski wife Nicole of Hernando, Mississippi, Nicole Carter husband Brian of Manhattan, Kansas. Also surviving is his sister Marty Knorowski of Berwick.
A celebration of life will be held on Friday March 28, 2025 at noon at the Rodger T. Bunnell Funeral Home, 435 Market St., Bloomsburg. Family will receive friends from 10:00 am until time of service at the funeral home.
Flowers were his life and they will be welcomed.
