Evelyn Kester Obituary

Evelyn Jean (Beaujon) Kester, 85, of Burtonsville, Md., formerly of Sweet Valley, Pa, passed away February 26, 2011. She was born July 15, 1925 in Endicott, New York. She lived a life of ministry. After accepting Christ as her personal Savior, she enrolled at Baptist Bible Seminary, Johnson City, NY. She met and married Floyd W. Kester and then began serving as a missionary Bible teacher/musician for over 50 years in Belgian Congo, Ghana, Africa, Takoma Park, MD and Sweet Valley, Pa. She was an active member of the Bible Baptist Church, Benton, Pa until her strokes prevented her from returning to Pennsylvania. She has received constant nursing care since 2008 at the Holy Cross Sanctuary. She was preceded in death by her husband Floyd W. Kester, her daughter Judith Ann Kester, and her sister Lillian (Beaujon) O'Connor. She is survived by five sons David (Yvonne) Kester, James (Lisa) Kester, Paul (Glyn) Kester, Peter (Sandy) Kester, Sammuel (Marta) Kester and two daughters Deborah (Dennis) O'Keefe, Ruth (John) Champbell and 27 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren and a brother Charles Beaujon and a sister Helen (Beaujon) Roberts. A memorial service will be Wednesday at 11:00am at Bible Baptist Church, 250 Shickshinny Road, Benton, Pa 17814. The family will also receive friends Thursday from 6:00 pm until 9:00pm at Forcey Memorial Church 2130 Randolph Rd., Sliver Spring, MD 20904. In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established at the First Baptist Church of Oxford, c/o Rev. James Kester, 150 Pontiac. St. Oxford, MI 45371 to distribute gifts to charities, including Bibles International, according to Evelyn's wishes.
