Gloria M (McCormick) Lizardi

Gloria M Lizardi 83, of Bloomsburg formerly of Millville passed away on Thursday, July 29, 2021, at her home surrounded by her loving family.  Born in Danville, she was the daughter of the late Frank  and Isabel (Remick) McCormick.

She was preceded in death by husband Boyd, son David, sister Shirley Anspach, brothers Frank and Jay McCormick  Surviving are her daughters Julie Hinson (Michael) of Myrtle Beach, SC and Linda Herrold (Craig) of Selinsgrove, two step daughters; Debbie Tokumoto of San Francisco, CA and Diane Melgoza of Las Vegas NV, brother John McCormick of Bloomsburg and sister Joann Olshefski of Bloomsburg. As well as two granddaughters Hannah Herrold and Olivia Leslie (Tyler), and great granddaughter Norah.  She has several nieces and nephews that loving call her Aunt Honey or Auntie G. 

She graduated from High School in 1955 from North Mont in Turbotville. She was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church Turbotville, and St. Paul Lutheran Church in Millville.

She worked at TRW in Danville, a school bus driver for Millville Area School District, secretary to the Millville Elementary Guidance  Department, Textron in Danville and Boones Nursing Home in Eyersgrove. She even helped install snow fences for Madison Township. 

She was a Girl Scout Leader for 12 years for the Jerseytown Chapter.  Her greatest joys were her family and friends. She loved playing cards, camping, cross country skiing, traveling with her Golden Girl buddies, and rounding up the girls in “The Home” and taking longs rides always ending with ice cream. She was proud of being a blood donor giving 14 Gallons. 

She was always willing to lend anyone a hand, she had a heart of gold and will be truly missed by many.

At Gloria’s request no funeral services will be held. A Celebration of Life will be held at the Bloomsburg Town Park on Saturday August 7, 2021 from 12-4.
