Hazel J (Hunsinger) Girton

Hazel J. Girton, 73, of Danville, went to be with the Lord Thursday, Dec. 16, 2021, at her residence.

She was born March 6, 1948, in Bloomsburg, a daughter of the late James and Francis (Evans) Hunsinger. 

She attended Bloomsburg schools. She enjoyed baking, crocheting, gardening, traveling, and loved playing the lottery. She especially loved spending time with her family. 

Hazel is survived by her husband, Gary R. Girton, whom she married on Sept. 17, 1966; brothers: James Hunsinger and fiancee, Jean Artley, of Mainville, Bruce Hunsinger and wife, Donna, of Danville; sister, Nancy Newhart, and her husband, Kenneth, of Bloomsburg; and several nieces and nephews.

Hazel was preceded in death by her parents as well as six siblings: Lloyd (Butch) Hunsinger, George Hunsinger, Rosalie Newhart, Francis Swisher, Sara Girton, and Shirley Titman.

Graveside services will be held Monday, Dec. 20, 2021, at 1 p.m. at New Rosemont Cemetery, Old Berwick Road, Bloomsburg, with the Rev. Mike Spagnuolo officiating.
