Herman L. Whitenight, formerly of Unityville passed away Monday, January 16, 2012 at his son residence in Danville. He was born May 8, 1925 in Jordan Township, Lycoming County, a son of the late William Kimber and Letha Keller Whitenight. Herman attended Hughesville High School and then he attended Penn State Farm School. He then served in the United States Army during WWII. He is a member of Talmer United Methodist Church, were he was the Sunday School Superintendent for many years. He was a cabinet maker at Aton Walton in Hughesville where he retired from. He was preceded in death by his wife Thelma J. Charles Whitenight, a brother Harold Whitenight and two sisters Mary Shaner and Helen Charles. Herman is survived by a son Myron G. Whitenight and his companion Deb Lucas of Danville and a grandson Glen Whitenight and his companion Cassie Frye of Scotch Valley. Services will be Thursday at 2:00 pm at Bunnell Funeral Home, Inc. 179 E. Main St. Millville with Pastor Dr. Kenneth Gunther officiating. Burial will be at Talmar Cemetery.
