J. Charles Crawford

J. Charles Crawford, 78, of Jerseytown, passed away surrounded by his family, Thursday, August 09, 2012 at his home. He was born November 25, 1933 in Union County, a son of the late Jesse and Ruth Temple Crawford. He graduated from Millville High School in 1952. After high school he served in the United States Army from 1953 until 1956. He is a member of the Arthur Bardo Post 564, the Millville Valley Grange number 52 and the N.R.A. He enjoyed hunting, farming and his dog Fifi, most of all he loved spending time with his grandchildren. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two sisters Betty Hackenburg and Helen Deihl. He is survived by his wife the former Helen Jean Bangs with whom he married December 24, 1953 at the United Methodist Church, Millville, a son Steven Crawford and his wife Kristin of Camp Hill and Jodi Graham and her fiancée Daniel Speer of Bloomsburg, five grandchildren Justin and Garrett Graham, Sarah, Joshua Crawford and Brady Ebersole and a brother Carl Crawford and his wife Connie of Bloomsburg and two sisters Eva and her husband Thomas Quick of Millville and Judy and her husband Paul Raup of Millville. Services will be Monday at 11:00 am at Bunnell Funeral Home, Inc. 179 E. Main St. Millville with his Pastor Robert Strozyk and Pastor Shawn McNett officiating. Burial will be at Lemons Cemetery in Greenwood. The family will receive friends Sunday from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm. In lieu of flowers contributions can be made in his memory to the Animal Resource Center 301A Brave Rd, Bloomsburg, Pa 17815. Friends unable to attend may send condolences at bunnellfuneralhome.com
