Jane R. (Rider) Wright

Jane R. Wright, 85, of Millville, passed away Thursday, December 22, 2011 after a brief stay at the Millville Health Care Center. She was born January 7, 1926 in Madison Township, a daughter of the late Lawrence and Martha Fisher Rider. Jane graduated from Millville High School and then Geisinger Nursing School in 1943. She served in the Army Cadet Nurse Corps. She was a private duty nurse in her early years and then worked for twenty years as Dr. Leonard Winski's nurse. She was a member of the Mill-Green United Methodist Church for sixty-eight years, where she was the organist and pianist for sixty-six years. During that time Jane also was a Sunday School Teacher and Jr Choir director. She enjoyed baking, sewing, and music. Jane also enjoyed supporting and spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She also enjoyed going to her monthly lunch-ins with the girls from her Geisinger Class. She was preceded in death by a brother Freddy Rider as an infant and then a sister Janice Tyler who passed away in 2011. Jane is survived by her husband Wayne Wright, with whom she married September 5, 1946, two daughters Janice Jurbala of Orangeville, Wendy and her husband Robert Woolcock of Millville and a son Jerre Wright and his wife Carol of Millville, six grandchildren Gena, Krista, Carey, Patrick, Alexa and Charissa and eight great grandchildren Sarah, Ian, Chelsea, Zachary, Dyllan, Eli, Samantha and Logan, and a brother Jon Rider and his wife Eunice of Millville. Services will be Monday at 11:00 am a Mill-Green United Methodist Church, State St. Millville with William Van Horn officiating. Burial will be at the Millville Cemetery.
