Joan J. (Bennett) Myers, 90, of Eyers Grove, was called Home on Tuesday, March 31st, 2026, with her loving family by her side.
Joan was born August 13, 1935, in Montgomery, PA, a daughter of the late Anna (Murphy) Bennett and Francis “Frank” Bennett.
Joan was a baptized born-again believer, child of God. In later years she enjoyed the ministry of Dr. David Jeremiah. She loved singing along the old-time hymns.
A child of poverty during the Great Depression, Joan grew up in Pumpkin Center, Montgomery, PA. One of her proudest moments was while in adulthood she attained her General Education Diploma.
Joan was employed in various retail women fashion stores. She was known for her pleasant customer service. In healthier years Joan enjoyed traveling to the beach, playing bingo and reading. She was a gifted homemaker having prepared a lifetime of homecooked meals as well as homemade holiday fudge. Her greatest joy, however, came from time spent with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She was affectionately referred to as Mom, Mumsy, Gram, and Little Grammy.
Joan is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Rhonda and Rusty Koch of Eyers Grove. She is additionally survived by her grandchildren Kristina Remish, Amber Williams, Reuben and Jessica Koch, and Rosh Koch, as well as great-grandchildren Sophia “Sam” Remish, Madelyn Bowie, Jackson Koch and Spencer Koch. She enjoyed time spent with “adopted” daughter Gemmi Koser, close friends Pearl Johnson, Anna Futoma and Donna Fisk, and special caregiver Sandy Bruno. She also leaves behind many beloved nieces and nephews.
Joan was predeceased by her husband Richard Myers in 2017, her daughter Susan (Treese) Williams and son-in-law Dana Williams who both passed in August, 2025. She was the last living relative of her siblings and their spouses Max “Mick” and Ruth Bennett, Frank “Pete” and Janet Bennett, Virginia “Tiny” and Robert Reynolds, and Franklin “Ted” and Elizabeth Bennett.
Joan’s family would like to thank the Compassus caregivers for their wonderful hospice care. At Joan’s request the services will be private and at the convenience of her family.
