Joanne Yingling Obituary
Joanne R. Yingling, 69, of Unityville passed away Tuesday February 18, 2020 at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville. She was born May 30, 1950 in Philadelphia, PA, a daughter of the late Joseph John and Mary Elizabeth (Kash) Risso.
She graduated from Cinnaminson New Jersey High School in 1968 and attended the Williamsport Area Community College (Now the Pennsylvania College of Technology). Joanne had a long career as a social worker with Hope Enterprises and Step Inc. in Williamsport, PA. Retiring in 1993 she began a successful career as an antiques and collectibles dealer with shops in Pennsdale and Lewisburg. This business grew from her passion for history.
Joanne's greatest passion, though, was her family. She loved gathering together with her siblings families and her children, however, her pride and joy were her three grandsons, whom she adored. Joanne was an avid gardener and cook. All who knew her relished sharing her home cooked meals with foods harvested from her bountiful gardens. A talented singer and musician, she touched many a heart singing folk, rock, and blues music.
Joanne is survived by her husband Lewis C. Yingling III., whom she married September 10, 1983, two children; Joseph Ian Sanders and wife Stephanie of Hughesville, Joanna DeRosa of Hughesville, three grandsons; Joshua and Ryan Sanders, Vincent DeRosa, brother John Risso and wife Rosemary, and sister-in-law Patricia Risso. She was preceded in death by her parents and young brother Joseph Risso Jr.
A celebration of life will be held Saturday March 14, 2020 at 11:00 am at Muncy Baptist Church, 11 West Penn St., Muncy, PA. Family will receive friends from 10:00 am until time of service.
In lieu of flowers the family is requesting that donations be made to either the Beckoning Cat Project, 1417 E 3rd St, Williamsport, PA 17701, or Lycoming County SPCA, 2805 Reach Rd, Williamsport, PA 17701.
