John W. Crissman Sr., 64, of Bloomsburg, passed away October 4, 2012 at Geisinger Medical Center. He was born October 19, 1947 in Port Trevorton, a son of the late Fred T. and Irene Bates Crissman. John graduated from Selinsgrove High School in 1965. After high school John joined the United States Air Force. He is a member of the Millville American Legion Arthur Bardo Post 564. He worked for many years for PPL- Montour SES in Washingtonville. John loved deer hunting until his Parkinson's Disease became too advanced. He is a member of the NRA and a life member of the North American Hunting Club. John enjoyed his farm and varieties of animals he raised over the years. He especially enjoyed raising whitetail deer. He enjoyed fishing from the pier at Flager Beach, Florida. He enjoyed family times and teaching his children and grandchildren to appreciate the great outdoors and the wildlife living there. In addition to his parents John was preceded in death by two nephews. John is survived by his wife of 33 years the former Nancy Rufty, and two sons John W. Crissman Jr. of Norry, Shane E. Crissman of Tenn. and two step-sons David Hoover and his wife Cassandra of Bloomsburg, Wayne Hoover and his wife Brenda of West Milton and a step-daughter Paulette and her husband Bud Renner of Winfield fifteen grandchildren and four great grandchildren, a brother Fred B. Crissman and his wife Sherry of Sunbury, a sister Sandra Wagner and her companion Scott Layman of Jacksonville, Florida and a niece and two nephews. Memorial service will be Saturday, October 6, 2012 at 2:00 pm at Bunnell Funeral Home, Inc. 179 E. Main St. Millville, with Pastor Peter Albreck officiating.
