John “Doug” Douglas Yashimski, 63, of Millville passed away Saturday July 23, 2022 at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville. He was born September 10, 1958 in Bloomsburg, a son of the late John A. and Margaret L. (Earnest) Yashimski.
He graduated from Millville High School class of 1976. Most of Doug’s career was spent driving truck, while also owning and operating Frans Diary Bar from 1990 until 1997, the Village Inn from 2002 until 2009, and retired from driving truck while reaching over a million miles. He was a member of Son of American Legion Squadron 564 and American Legion Rider Post 564. Doug enjoyed riding motorcycles and spending time with family and friends.
Doug is survived by three children; Kelly Polizzi husband Mike, Shelly Frost husband Brian, Michael Yashimski wife Rachelle, and eight grandchildren; Lyndsey and Brandon Frost, Michael and Andrew Petock, Corrina and Gage Yashimski, Carter and Tyler Polizzi.
A celebration of life will be held Saturday August 27, 2022 from 3:00 pm until 10:00 pm at the Millville American Legion Post 564, 259 Legion Road, Millville. Family and friends may send online condolences to bunnellfuneralhome.com.
