Joseph Koveleski Obituary

Joseph M. Koveleski, 71, of Danville, passed away Tuesday, March 1, 2011 at Geisinger Medical Center. He was born April 5, 1939 in Shamokin, a son of the late Theodore and Florence Peyka Kowaleski. He graduated from Shamokin High School in 1957. He served in the US Army from 1959 until 1961. He was an avid sports fan, with his favorite teams the Eagles and Mets. He had a great sense of humor and enjoyed telling stories. He was preceded in death by two brothers Robert Koveleskie and Marion (Hick) Koveleski. He is survived by his wife the former Kathy McGaw with whom he married February 14, 1995 and three sons Todd A. Koveleski and his wife Julie of Atco, NJ, Mark P. Koveleski and his wife Valerie of Mt. Carmel and Phil A. Koveleski and his wife Colleen of Quarryville and a daughter Melissa Mannion of Mt. Carmel and six grandchildren Jordyn, Kyle, Matt, Mark Koveleski and Cameron, Gianna Mannion and a sister Ann Marie McBride of Shamokin. Services will be Friday at 11:00 am at Rodger T. Bunnell Funeral Home 435 Market St. Bloomsburg with Rev. Allen Acor officiating. Burial will be at Elan Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Friday from 10:00 am until the time of service. In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to the American Lung Association 1301 Pennsylvania Ave., NW, Suite 800, Washington, DC 20004.
