Karl Hans Schaefer

Karl Hans Schaefer, 85, of Millville passed away on Saturday May 25, 2025 at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville. He was born September 30, 1939 in Philadelphia, a son of the late George Karl and Anna Marie (Eisenhauer) Schaefer.

He graduated from Inner Borough High School and then joined the United States Army being honorably discharged October 31, 1969. Karl worked and retired from PP&L where he was the head electrician. 

He was Past Master of Lodge #711 in Lansdowne and currently member of Bloomsburg Masonic Lodge #265. Karl was a member of St. Matthews Lutheran Church, Bloomsburg, and a life member of the Millville Fire Co.

Karl is survived by his twin brother Kurt Schaefer wife Joan of Wallingford, PA, stepson William Mohr wife Terry of Cummins, GA, two grandchildren: Amy Miller, Michael Mohr, and four great-grandchildren: Asa, Mabyn, Rowan, Marion.

Karl was preceded in death by his parents as well as his wife Dorothea Edith (Twisselman) Schaefer, who passed away on March 3, 2018.

Masonic Services will be held Friday May 30, 2025 at 11:00 am at St. Matthews Lutheran Church, 123 Market St., Bloomsburg, PA, 17815 with funeral services to follow with Pastor Pam Meilands officiating. Burial will follow at Elan Memorial Park. Family will receive friends from 10:00 am until time of service at the church.

In lieu of flowers contributions in Karl’s memory may be sent to St. Matthew’s Lutheran Church.
