Kermit G. Heller 79 of Berwick passed away October 10, 2010 at the Berwick Hospital. He was born August 30, 1931 in Brair Creek Township, a son of the late Holland and Phema (Shadle) Heller. Kermit graduated from Berwick High school in1950 and the joined the Army during the Korean Conflict in 1952. He also served in the Peace Corp. He was a heavy equipment operator for International Union of Operating Engineers for over 40 years. A member of the Bloomsburg American Legion post 273, Oriental Lodge 460 Orangeville, Catawissa V.F.W. post 8306, he also belonged to the Combat Infantry Men Association. He is a member of the Ebenezer United Methodist Church. He enjoyed time with his grandson and working on antique tractors and talking with friends and family. He is survived by his wife Mavis (Kitchen) Heller with whom he married in 1952 and a daughter Mary Cash of Berwick and a grandson Jay den Rainier and three brothers Elwood (Ike) Heller and his wife Jeanette, Wayne Heller and his wife Lillian and Rodney Heller and his wife Carol all of Berwick and several nieces and nephews. Services will be Thursday at 2:00 pm at Ebenezer United Methodist Church, State Rt. 93, Orangeville, with his pastor Susan Knorr officiating. Burial will be at Ebenezer Cemetery. The viewing will be Wednesday at Ebenezer United Methodist Church; from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm.
