Lane Hess

Lane Hess 76, of Bloomsburg went to be with the Lord on Friday July 29, 2022 at the Geisinger Medical Center in  Danville.

Lane was born November 15, 1945 in Bloomsburg, a son of the late, Edwin and Florence Volkman Hess.  He was preceded in death by his much loved daughter Anemarie Hess who passed on October 18, 2018.   He was a graduate of Central Columbia High School and studied teaching at Bloomsburg University.  He learned as an electrician apprentice with his father.  They wired many houses in the Almedia area.  Lane was an entrepreneur who always enjoyed a successful negotiation.  He worked in a variety of sales roles early in his career before opening Ridge Street Auto.  In later life he started Route 11 Auto Sales.  He enjoyed hunting, fishing and exploring new destinations.  His best memories were spending time on local streams and the Susquehanna.  After retirement he spent  time deep-sea fishing, going on cruises, traveling and discovering new restaurants.

Lane is survived by his wife Diane (Cooper),  whom he married on November 11, 1977, son Steven Hess and his wife Kristen of Raleigh, NC and grandchildren Lauren and Ethan Hess, and Megan Hess Craft as well as sister Sandra Nearhoof and her children Nicole Nearhoof, Kimberly Nearhoof and Michael Nearhoof.

Services will be Friday August 5, 2022, at 11:00 am, from the Rodger T. Bunnell Funeral Home 435 Market Street Bloomsburg Pa. 17815, with Pastor Mark Rowell officiating.   A viewing will be from 10:00 am till time of service.
