Laura Jane Evert, 79, went to be with the Lord and Savior Saturday October 12, 2024, at Geisinger in Danville. She was born April 17, 1945, at her home in Numidia, a daughter of the late Ralph and Ruth (Hittle) Harner.
She was a graduate of Southern Columbia High School Class of 1964. She then worked as a seamstress for the Emenee Shirt Factory in Catawissa until she started at Geisinger Medical Center from where she retired after 30 years of service. Laura enjoyed reading, gardening, home making, and loved her pets. Laura belonged to the Glad Tidings Assembly of God, where she enjoyed the Women’s Bible study.
Laura is survived by her second husband Dale W. Evert, with whom she would have celebrated 18 years of marriage on October 28th of this year, daughter Rebecca (Becky) LeVan-Wertz of Turbotville, two grandchildren Marshall L. Wertz and Cheyenne N. Crist, two great grandchildren Madison Pfleegor and McKenna Koser, and sister Betty Evans of Bloomsburg.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Marlin Levan in 2003, and seven siblings, Marlin (Monk), Clarence (Chinky), Carl, Ralph (Junior), Pete, Anna Brown, and Alice Becker.
Services will be held Thursday October 17, 2024, at 2:00 pm at the Rodger T. Bunnell Funeral Home, 435 Market Street Bloomsburg, with her Pastor John Kolenda officiating, Burial will follow at Hillside Cemetery, Catawissa.
