Mabel J. Thomas, 90, of Millville, went to be with her Lord and Savior April 1, 2012 at the Millville Health Care Center. She was born March 7, 1922 in Mainesburg, Pa., a daughter of the late Daniel P. and Arbutus Laing Jaquish. Mabel graduated from Mansfield High School and then she was the valedictorian of her graduating class at Mansfield University. She retired from Central Middle School in 1985. She is a member of the Millville Christian Church where she is a Meredith Elder and a Sunday School Teacher for fifty plus years. She enjoyed making crafts and helping her husband make ornaments and toys. She also enjoyed reading and writing. Mabel especially enjoyed her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son Daniel Robert Thomas who passed away November 11, 1979 and four brothers William, Daniel, Joseph and Francis Jaquish and three sister Arbutus, Martha, and Christine. Mabel is survived by her husband C. Donald Thomas with whom she married June 1, 1941 and two daughters Lorraine and her husband Howard Watts and Jane and her husband Joseph Steinruck all of Millville and six grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. She is also survived by three sisters Gladys Brubaker of Litiz, Donna Brown of Bird-in-hand and Priscilla Stopher of Minnesota. Services will be Friday at 10:30 am at Millville Christian Church 245 E. Main St. Millville with her Pastor Richard Plocinski officiating. The family will receive friends Thursday from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Bunnell Funeral Home, Inc. 179 E. Main St. Millville, and Friday from 9:30 am until the time of service.
