“Peggy” Margaret Folk, 91, of Bloomsburg went home to be with the Lord September 10, 2021.
Born April 12, 1930, in Bloomsburg, she was the daughter of the late Beach Parker and Elizabeth Rhone Parker.
Peggy was a graduate of Bloomsburg School.
Peggy and her husband, Ed, joined in many business ventures together. Peggy and Ed’s lifelong business was L.E. Folk Florist, Inc., of which she was vice president. Early on, they grew flowers. Then they opened Folk’s Florist and Garden Center. She went to work every day until the closing in March 2021. Peggy loved flowers and flowers were her life. Flowers would be appreciated for her celebration of life.
Her love of The Bloomsburg Fair started many years ago with a milkshake stand, then a candy stand and now Folk’s Batter Dipped Vegetables. They sold mobile homes and owned Pleasant View Estates and Brookside Village Mobile Home Park.
Peggy was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She loved spending time with family, especially at their cabin on Thanksgiving. But all holidays were special to her. She loved to fish, cook, play cards and dominos. Peggy and Ed loved to travel. They went to Alaska, Scandinavia, most of Canada, Florida, Europe and many more places. They went as far north as Barrow, Alaska and as far south as Key West.
Surviving is her husband, Ed, with whom she just celebrated their 71st wedding anniversary on September 2, 2021; her son, Ed, and wife Jolene, Bloomsburg; daughter Linda Cain and husband Randy, Benton; and daughter Jeannie Lapinski and husband Tom, Bloomsburg; her two grandchildren: Aaron Lapinski and wife Nicole, Mississippi; and granddaughter Nicole, Nescopeck. Peggy had a sister: Joan Spaid, Bloomsburg.
Along with her parents, Peggy was preceded in death by a sister, Betty Rinker.
A celebration of life will be held Friday, September 17, 2021, at 2 p.m. at the Rodger T. Bunnell Funeral Home, 435 Market St., Bloomsburg, with Pastor Howard Leh officiating.
