Marie “Peachie” Reynolds passed away peacefully Thursday morning surrounded by loved ones. She was born December 12, 1944, in Bloomsburg, PA, a daughter of the late William Arthur “Bill and Irma Marie (Musselman) Avery. She grew up in Pine Summit, PA, graduating from Hughesville High School.
Marie spent her life in joyful service to her family, community, and church. She was everyone’s “Aunt Peachie” and the “town Mom” to the friends of each of her children. She was a member of the Mill-Green United Methodist Church serving roles of Sunday school teacher, bible schoolteacher, and a member of both the kitchen crew and Kids for Christ program. She dedicated 25+ years as a volunteer for the Ronald McDonald House in Danville and absolutely loved being a “pie lady” for Camp Victory. Marie enjoyed square dancing in her previous years and was the ideal soccer, wrestling, and field hockey Mom. Her favorite times were those spent sharing her love of arts and crafts with children.
Marie is survived by her husband of 45 years, James Reynolds and children: Adam Johnson (Susan) of Mechanicsburg, PA, Joseph Johnson of Mechanicsburg, PA, Sabrina Letner (Kenny) of Virginia Beach, VA, and Lori Reynolds of Bloomsburg, grandchildren Ashley Schutjer (Collin), Katie Gates (Ian), Jack Eshelman (Lauren), Erin Eshelman, Nathan Welliver (Stacey Bartlett), Lora Welliver, Matthew Long, and Heaven Hettinger. She is also survived by her beloved sister Shirley Farlow (Harry) of Bloomsburg.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Bill and Irma Avery, brothers, William Avery Jr., Robert Avery, Ray Avery, and her dear sister Darlene Sellers.
A memorial service will be held Saturday September 25, 2021, at 3:00 pm at Bunnell Funeral Home Inc., 179 E. Main St., Millville, PA, 17846.
