Martha L. Meek, 80, of Millville, passed away on Monday, January 12, 2026, at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville. Surviving is her loving and devoted husband of 62 years, John W. Meek.
Born September 27, 1945, in Sayre, PA she was a daughter of the late Harvey R. and Wilma (Evans) Burgess.
After graduating from high school, Martha dedicated over two decades of her life to caring for others as a Certified Nursing Assistant at the Gardens at Millville. Her compassion and warmth made a lasting impact on the lives of countless individuals and their families.
Martha's faith was an integral part of her life. She was an active member of the Stillwater Christian Church, where she generously volunteered at the church's clothing giveaway. Her spirit of service extended to her involvement with PA P.E.T.S., where she volunteered her time to help animals in need.
Music was one of Martha's greatest passions. She was a talented musician who played fiddle and guitar in several bluegrass bands. Martha also found joy and happiness playing the piano at her home. Above all, Martha's family was her entire life. She nurtured a home filled with love, laughter, and the sweet sounds of music.
Surviving in addition to her husband are four children Gail M. Wright (Terry) of Greenwood Twp., Walter J. Meek (Leigh) of Benton, Penny R. Meek of Millville, and Amanda J. Meek of Ickesburg; 11 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; her siblings Gene Burgess, Jerry Burgess, Barbara Rockwell, Blanche MacIntyre, Phillip "Jake" Burgess, LeRoy Burgess, and Alice Crossett; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings Rodney, Raymond, Robert, and Donald Burgess, and David and Wilma Laraby, and her great-granddaughter Francesca Liotta.
A funeral service to honor the life of Martha will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, January 21 at Bunnell Funeral Home Inc., 179 East Main St., Millville with Pastor Scott Lyons officiating. A viewing will be held from 10 a.m. until time of service at the funeral home.
