Mary Ruth Knorr 77, of Bloomsburg, went to be with the Lord, Wednesday October 6, 2021, at Sunset Ridge Healthcare & Rehabilitation Center. She was born, December 26, 1943, in Bloomsburg, a daughter of the late Robert W. and Mary (Fry) Carey.
She graduated Bloomsburg High School Class of 1961, and worked for Bloomsburg University for over 23 years as a chef. Mary enjoyed cross stitch, crocheting, and doing ceramics. She lived her entire life in Bloomsburg.
Mary Ruth is survived by her two sons, Mark Shaffer and his wife Charmayne and Scott Shaffer, two brothers; Rodney Carey and Kenneth Carey of Bloomsburg, and sister Sharon Carey of Orangeville.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband William Knorr, son Scott Shaffer. As well as five siblings; Donald Carey, Dorothy Temple, Richard, Robert and Larry Carey and stepmother Katherine (Dold) Carey.
