Mary M. (Brophy) Ringes

Mary M. Ringes, 92, of Espy, went to be with the Lord Tuesday, January 29, 2013 at Balanced Care of Bloomsburg surrounded by her children. She was born October 1, 1920 in Bethlehem, Pa, a daughter of the late Thomas and Mary Close Brophy. She graduated from St. Edward's High School and had worked at the National Ticket Company in Shamokin. She lived the early years of her life in the Heckscherville, Pa before moving to Shamokin and finally in her later years to Espy, Pa. She enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles, watching Lawrence Welk, Ballroom dancing, polkas, and decorating for holidays. She enjoyed her grand dogs, Ebby, Sampson and Daisy. Most of all she loved her family and was a dedicated and giving Mom and Grandma. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Joseph P. Ringes who passed away January 24, 1995 and two brothers Joseph Brophy, Thomas Brophy and two sisters Josephine Delaney and Peggy Buckwash. She is survived by two sons Martin Ringis and his wife Rose of Frederick, MD, Joseph Ringes of Espy and three daughters Anne Louise and her husband Tom Semones of Camphill, Pa, Mary Ellen and her husband Rick Boyer of Espy and Suzanne Ringes of Harrisburg and six grandchildren Tommy, Deanne, Amanda, Marta, Joseph and Katerina and four great grandchildren Andrew, Justin, Kathryn, Braeden and a sister Anna Ballantine of New Cumberland, PA, two sisters-in-law Rose Paczkoski and Anne Kinder both of Shamokin. Mass will be Friday at 12:00 pm at St. Columba Catholic Church, Third and Iron St. Bloomsburg, Pa 17815 with Monsignor Robert E. Lawrence officiating. Burial will be at Northumberland Memorial Park 2956 State Route 61, Sunbury, Pa 17801. Friends unable to attend may send condolences at bunnellfuneralhome.com.
