Richard H Funson

Richard H. Funson, 70, of Millville went to be with the Lord, Thursday July 27, 2023, at his residence. He was born March 16, 1953, in Teaneck N.J., a son of the late Richard L. and Grace (Klinger) Funson.

He graduated from Northern Valley Reginal High School in Demarest N.J. and then went to the University of Connecticut. He owned and operated Funson Greenhouse for many years. Rich belonged to the Millville Fire Co, where he served as the Chairman of the Parade Committee for several years and also helped with the fireworks. Along with belonging to the Millville Fire Company he also belonged to Bloomsburg Fire Co. and Orangeville Fire Co. His favorite thing to do was play in dirt, either by gardening or working on the farm. He enjoyed hunting, golfing, fishing, and especially spending time with family.

Richard is survived by his wife, the former Candie Thompson, whom he married on May 1, 1976, two children, Catherine G. Douglas and her husband James of Millville and Charles Funson and his wife Katja of Unityville, five grandchildren: Kristopher, Jaxon, Tristan, Lillyann, and Olivia, brother Thomas Funson and his wife Jayne of Bloomsburg and sister Grace Ann Hunsinger and her husband David of Bloomsburg.

Services will be Wednesday August 2, 2023, at 11:00amat the Bunnell Funeral Home Inc. 179 E. Main St. Millville with Rev. Mark Messner officiating. Burial will follow at Ikeler’s Cemetery. The family will receive friends and family from 10:00 am until the time of service at the funeral home. Family and friends unable to attend may send online condolences to bunnellfuneralhome.com.
