Richard J. Janicki

Richard J. Janicki, 73, of Bloomsburg passed away Saturday June 2, 2018 at his residence. He was born January 14, 1945 in New Haven, Connecticut, a son of the late Romuald and Dorothy (Donegan) Janicki. He graduated from Gifford High School and then received his bachelor's degree from University of New Haven. Richard worked for Amtrack as a consultant. He was an avid movie critic. A special thanks to all of his friends at the Bloom-Mill Apartments. Richard is survived by his wife the former Diane Scott whom he married September 11, 1969, three children; Daniel J. Janicki and wife Andrea of Cherry Hill, NJ, Matthew Janicki of Maple Shade, NJ, Laura Gleeson of Coal Township, six grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren. As well as four brothers; David Janicki and wife Jackie of Portsmouth, RI, Edward Janicki and wife JoAnn of Old Line, CT, Martin Janicki and wife Claire of Brandford, CT, Michael Janicki and wife Bonnie of Leesburg, VA, and two sisters; Catherine Fanning and husband David of North Kingstown, RI, and Marry Higgins and husband Jeff of West Brook, CT. A visitation will be held Saturday June 23, 2018 from 9:00 am until 11:00 am at Guilford Funeral Home, 115 Church St., Guilford, CT. Burial will be at 11:30 at All Saints Cemetery, North Haven, CT.
