Richard Rogers Obituary

Richard "Rocket" Rogers, 64 of Orangeville, passed away Wednesday, March 14, 2012 at his home after a lengthy illness surrounded by his loving wife Linda and family. He was born in Jersey Shore, Pa, a son of the late William T. and Gladys M. Rogers. Richard graduated from Jersey Shore High School. After graduation he joined the United States Marine Corps and served during the Vietnam War. He was honorably discharged with the rank of Sergeant. He received an Associate Degree in Business from a Community Collage in Boston. He is a member of Arthur Bardo Post 564 and a life member of the Jersey Shore V.F.W. Post 5859. Rick was a professional salesman for Independence Honda of Bloomsburg and a previous Electrolux salesman. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister Jean Garman and a brother-in-law Richard Peterman and a nephew Sawyer Peterman. Richard is survived by his wife the former Linda Peterman, with whom he married September 17, 1988 and two brothers William Rogers and his wife Kathy of Williamsport, John Rogers and his wife Barb of Jersey Shore and three sisters Connie and her husband Chuck Rainy of Jersey Shore, Patty and her husband Jim Douglass of Jersey Shore and Joan Dugas of Rhode Island. Memorial service will be Saturday, March 24, 2012 at 2:00 pm at Mill-Green United Methodist Church with Pastor Richard Leonard officiating. Burial will be at Millville Cemetery.
