Robert S. Babb Sr., 79, of Bloomsburg, went to be with the Lord, Sunday July 10, 2022, at his residence. Bob was born, November 29, 1942, in Iola, a son of the late, Herdick and Edith (Confer) Babb.
Bob attended Scott Township Schools, and joined the Army during the Vietnam War. He trained soldiers for Vietnam, and was a Gunner in the 517th Artillery Battalion A. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and carpentry. He belonged to the Buckhorn United Methodist Church, and was a life member of the Buckhorn Fire Co, Little Fishing Creek Rod and Gun Club, and National Rifle Association. Bob has lived in Buckhorn since 1988.
Bob is survived by his wife, the former Linda M. (White) Shoup whom he married on March 5, 1988, children Robert S. Babb, Jr. and his wife Virginia of Catawissa, Robin Phillips and her husband Allen of Berwick, Douglas Shoup and his wife Jessica of Berwick, six grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren. He is also survived by two sisters, Susan Browne and her husband James of Millville, and Jacqueline Winters and husband Theodore of Milton.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother Herdick Babb and sister Joan Babb.
Services will be Wednesday July 13, 2022, at 11:00 am at the Rodger T. Bunnell Funeral Home, 435 Market Street Bloomsburg Pa. 17815, with his Reverend Marjorie McCarty officiating. Burial will follow at Columbia Hill Cemetery Danville, Pa. The family will receive friends from 10:00 am until time of service.
In lieu of flowers the family request donations to the Buckhorn United Methodist Church, 94 School House Rd. Bloomsburg, Pa., 17815.
