Robert B. "Cob" Carey, 78, of Bloomsburg, passed away Saturday, December 03, 2011 at Geisinger Medical Center after a lengthy illness. He was born October 10, 1933 in Danville, a son of the later Robert B. and Emma Styers Carey. Robert attended Danville Schools and served in the Army National Guard. He is a member of the Bloomsburg Legion. He enjoyed baking for the Bloomsburg Towers and Kulpmont. He was preceded in death by his wife Joan Edwards Carey who passed away April 9, 2005 and a grandson Robert "Robby" Carey and a brother Jack Carey and three sisters Ardith Horn, Ethel Ball and Blanch Carey. He is survived by two daughters Lou Ann and her husband Robert Deihl and Rose and her husband Larry Long all of Bloomsburg, a son Robert Carey of Washingtonville, nine grandchildren and eight great grandchildren and a great great granddaughter. Memorial service will be Wednesday at 2:00 pm at Bunnell Funeral Home, Inc. 179 E. Main St. Millville with Rev. Allen Acor officiating. Burial will be at Columbia Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 1:00 pm until the time of service.
