Shirley Brown Obituary
Shirley Dawn Brown, 82, of Millville, went to be with the Lord, Saturday February 29, 2020 at Maria Hall Hospice Danville, surrounded by her family. She was born October 25, 1937, in Catawissa, a daughter of the late Woodrow and Elva (Force) Ernest.
Shirley was a graduate of Danville High School Class of 1955 and a graduate of University of Pennsylvania Nursing Class of 1958. Shirley and her husband owned and operated J.E. Brown Garage for 25 years. She worked at Muncy Hospital as a registered nurse for 42 years and at Grandview Nursing Home for 10 years where she retired. Shirley was a member of Pine Summit Church, and HUP Alumni.
She enjoyed reading, going camping with her family at the Montgomery river lot, vacationing in Florida, and having gatherings with her cousins from out of state. She loved spending time with her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and step-grandchildren.
Shirley is survived by her four sons; James Brown and wife Annette, Jay Brown and wife Sandy, Jonathan Brown and wife Lori all of Millville, and Jeffrey Brown and wife Judy of North Carolina. As well as eight grandchildren, three step-grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, eight great-step-grandchildren, and sister Doris Shotsberger and husband Bob of Ft. Worth Texas.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Gordon Brown 1996 and a brother Charles Ernest who passed in 2014.
Services will be Wednesday, March 4, 2020, at 10:00 am at Mill-Green United Methodist Church, State St. Millville Pa. 17846, with Rev. Robert Stroyzk and Ryan Reigh officiating. Burial will follow at Ikeler's Cemetery. Family will receive friends Tuesday March 3, 2020 from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm at Bunnell Funeral Home Inc., 179 E. Main St., Millville.
