William “Bill” J Bisset

William J. “Bill” Bisset, 90, of Bloomsburg, PA  passed away peacefully on September 27, 2024 at Geisinger Bloomsburg Hospital. Born on May 28, 1934 in Berwick, PA,  WIlliam was the son of the late Violetta and Wallace Bisset.  William was a devoted husband to June M. Bisset and a loving father to his four children: Bonnie Mordan (Mark), Bob Bisset (Vicki), Barry Bisset, and Brenda Logan (Tim).

He was a proud grandfather to Eric Mordan (Jazmine Lakey), Jenna Anzelmo (Philip), Breanne Bisset (Taylor Hiller), and Becka Olshemski (Stephen). He also cherished his role as a great-grandfather to Eliza Hiller, Valerie Anzelmo, Trevor Anzelmo, Oliver Lakey, and Winona Hiller.

In addition to his parents, William was preceded in death by four siblings:  Charlotte Coleman, Dawn Myers, Helen Mathews  and Ted Fritz.

A dedicated United States Army veteran, William served from August 1954 to August 1956 with duty in Washington, D.C., and Hawaii. He was actively involved in his community, serving in various roles in scouting and in little league baseball. William was a member of the Washington Lodge 265, Caldwell Consistory, the Orangeville Sportsman Club, the Bloomsburg Skeet Club, and the American Legion Post 273.

An entrepreneur at heart, William operated the Bisset and Fritz Barber Shop with his brother, Ted Fritz, for many years. He later worked in maintenance at Bloomsburg University. He had a passion for the outdoors, especially trout and fly fishing.

William will be remembered for his kindness, creativity with chocolate, breakfast dates with friends and family, and the joy he brought to all who knew him. He will be deeply missed.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 2, 2024, from 4 to 6 PM at the Rodger T. Bunnell Funeral Home, 435 Market Street, Bloomsburg.  Funeral services will take place at 10 AM on Thursday, October 3, 2024 at the Funeral Home with Pastor Kelly of Ridge Street United Methodist Church officiating.
